TATA, the leading car of 1.27 BILLION people in INDIA has been building affordable yet high-quality vehicles in more than 65 years. Its palpable expertise in the motoring industry and deep commitment to providing quality service to its clients, may have convinced owners of the Land Rover and Jaguar - two prestigious British car brands - to sell their companies to Indian’s number one car manufacturer in 2008. Today, Land Rover and Jaguar are part of the Tata Group family.
In 1868, Tata Trading Company was founded by JAMSETJI TATA. Some 146 years later, it has metamorphosed into a gigantic business conglomerate: the Tata Group, which has much pronounced global exposure and market share in its products, services, and innovations not only in India but also in 150 countries across six continents. Proof is, close to 60 percent of its revenue are derived overseas.
Out of 100 operating companies working independently, 32 are publicly listed. The principal Tata companies are involved in steel, motors (passenger cars, commercial and military vehicles, etc.), power plants (wherein it is one of the largest power producers in India), chemicals, industries, communications, teleservices, consultancy services, global beverages, and Taj Hotels.
In 2013-2014, its revenue reached US$103.27 billion, net profit exceeded US$5.3 billion in the same period, while the combined assets ballooned to US$360.32 billion. Despite the collapse of a number of economies in Asia and Western countries, Tata’s revenues grow continually.

In 2009, out of 600 global companies surveyed, the Tata Group ranked 11th as the “most reputable company in the world.” In the 2014 Brand Finance Global Report, it ranked 34th as among the “top 500 most valuable global brands.”
In manifestation of its core purpose to improve the quality of life of the communities it serves globally, Tata Group has been providing grants to bolster scientific research and improve educational institutions, on top of its long history of philanthropic activities.
Indeed, these remarkable achievements make us Asians very proud because we are at par - and in some highly-competitive technology areas - have exceeded the performance of our colonial masters in terms of research, manpower development, and production of globally-recognized products and services.

Tata Philippines
Last May, Pilipinas TAJ Autogroup, Inc., launched in Manila a number of car models to include local media’s favorite pickup truck – the Tata Xenon, with a price much lower than those of the leading brands - yet packed with mouth-watering safety and performance features like ABS, dual air bags, power windows, central lock, limited-slip differential, etc.; the Indigo sedan, powered by a 1.4 TCIC diesel engine; Tata Ace micro truck, and other inexpensive yet durable passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, ideal for the Philippine market.
The prohibitive cost of gasoline - with the incessant rise in pesos and reduction in a few centavos – makes the Indigo sedan the ideal car for taxi operators, company service crews, salespersons, IT and banking staff, and even for families who want the best value for their money, without sacrificing functional reliability, style, and smoothness of ride.
Entrepreneurs, taxi operators, LGUs, and would-be first-time brand-new car owners, may visit any Tata Motors showroom, try a free Indigo sedan test-drive and be mesmerized by its eye-catching looks and splendid performance.
“Oh, I love this car!”
